First truth you need to know, is that fat burners don't really burn fat. What they do is enhance the process that can aid in fat being used as fuel. Second thing to remember, is that not all fat burning products are free from side effects. Depending on the type of product, you may experience mild effects such as mood swings, irritability, or dizziness. The way this supplement works, is to increase your body's metabolism, which is your own internal fat burning engine. As your metabolism increases so does your body temperature and it takes fuel for this to happen. Stored body fat is the fuel that your body uses to keep the metabolism going through continuous moderate stress. That's the idea behind using fat burning supplements anyway. Temporary quick fixes won't help in the long run, since you are just handling the symptoms. Fat in the body is generally an indication of a complicated issue with several causes like poor nutrition, inactivity, unhealthy lifestyle or even stress.
Fat burning supplements do a couple of things that are conducive to weight loss. The first is the obvious increased metabolic rate that helps burn up excess fat deposits. Whenever you over-stimulate the body, it will react by delaying your natural metabolism in order to balance itself. So when you discontinue using the stimulant, your metabolic rate will be very slow. So slow that you might even gain back more weight than you lost. This will absolutely make you use more of the supplements and the addiction begins. Short term use of these products might aid in weight loss. Long term use can lead to adapted tolerance, leading to little or no fat loss benefits. Even worse prolonged use can lead to chemical dependance. Some studies have shown accelerated fat loss form 3-6 weeks with diminishing results for the next 4-5 weeks. Over 8 weeks of use you will see adapted tolerance, then little or no benefit. So the best benefits are obtained from using the product for a few weeks. Then discontinuing use to let your body rest. Then try again in a few weeks. This is called cycling. So
now we know what thermogenics are, supplements that increase metabolism. Which leads to increased heat production, and few more calories burned. Studies show that thermogenic supplements will also suppress appetite, and sometimes improve mental

commonly used thermogenic ingredients.
- Synephrine: Bitter orange extract is used for its synephrine content. Like ephedra, synephrine increases metabolic rate and caloric expenditure it can also produce other weight-loss effects such as increased energy levels and suppressed appetite.
- Caffeine: (guarana, kola nut, green tea extract) Caffeine is the most popular stimulant used in thermogenic fat burners. Caffeine elevates metabolic rate, encouraging thermogenesis and calorie-expenditure.
- 7 Keto: 7 keto, (or 7-Oxo-Dehydroepiandrosterone) a metabolite of DHEA with fewer side effects, increases metabolism and encourages fat loss. Unlike stimulants, however, 7 keto doesn't exert its effects via the nervous system, instead increasing metabolic rate by affecting the thyroid gland.
- Guggul: Made from the resin of the commiphora mukul tree, guggul supplements contain compounds called guggul sterones, guggul resin help normalize thyroid function, which has a positive effect on metabolism.
- Ma huang: Ma huang has been used as a stimulant and for weight loss, and appetite suppression. Ma huang is also known as ephedrine, ephedra, ephedra alkaloids, and sea grape. The use of products containing ma huang may be dangerous. Before taking ma huang, talk to your doctor, pharmacist, or health care professional.
- Pyruvate: A form of pyruvic acid, pyruvate is made by the body and found in food in limited amounts. Pyruvic acid assists in the production of ATP, which is a primary energy fuel for the body, powering both vital functions and work/exercise. Studies have shown that pyruvate can significantly increase fat loss when paired with exercise and a healthy diet. Pyruvate may also increase exercise endurance, further helping to promote fat loss.
- Green Coffee Ben Extract: With only 20 mg of caffeine per serving, compared to a minimum of 200 mg
for a cup of roasted coffee, green coffee bean extract doesn't make you nervous and jittery, like roasted coffee or other
caffeine based diet aids. Rather, the active ingredient in green coffee is chlorogenic
acid, works to inhibit the release of glucose in the body and increases
the metabolic process in the liver.

Fat burners aren't magic, or there would be much fewer overweight people. They can be, in reality dangerous, and at times deadly over-hyped drugs. MIRACLE PILLS DO NOT EXIST.
